Our Mission

The mission of The Emergency Assistance Center is to provide food, clothing and personal hygiene items, as well as seasonal support, to our Northern Summit County neighbors in need.

GIVE HELP

Hello Friends. We have created two Amazon Lists, one for most needed food and one for hygiene items. We have tried to include items that are currently available, but as anyone who has tried to order these items from Amazon knows, the status can change very quickly. We will gladly accept any food or hygiene items that you can find. Please be careful when you order to select ‘One-Time Purchase’ rather than the default ‘Subscribe and Save.’ We have specified a shipping address of a trusted member of our team rather than the Center so that we will be sure to receive shipments that arrive on nights and weekends.

If you would like pick up items for us when you shop, you can still safely donate in person anytime we are open M-F 8am-4pm. Please call when you arrive and stay in your car. We will come out and collect the donations. THANK YOU for thinking of TEAC and your neighbors in need during these difficult times!

What We Do

The Emergency Assistance Center (TEAC) is first and foremost a food pantry, providing a monthly 5-day supply of food. Our primary goal is to feed the hungry.

We always serve those in need of emergency help, as well as those in our service area who need continued help to put food on the table.

How Many Served

  • In February 2020, we served 790 Individuals from 263 Households which included 168 Senior Citizens & 264 Children!
  • In 2019, we served 10,205 individuals throughout the year and distributed food for a total of 130,299 meals!
  • In December 2019, through our Christmas Lane program, we provided our qualified clients with gifts for 286 children!

We help our neighbors who qualify for food assistance and reside the following communities:

44067 - Northfield Center, Northfield Village,
Sagamore Hills
44056 - City of Macedonia
44087 - City of Twinsburg, Twinsburg Township
44202 - Reminderville
44286 - City of Richfield, Richfield Township
44264 - Village of Peninsula
44236 - City of Hudson, Boston Heights

TEAC is a network partner of the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank. Our Center is an Accredited Charity of the Better Business Bureau by having met all 20 of their Standards for Charity Accountability. We have also been awarded the GuideStar USA Platinum Seal of Transparency.

We are honored to be entirely community-funded and are humbled by the continued partnership of our community to help feed those families who need assistance putting food on their tables. Approximately 90% of monetary donations are used to directly benefit our clients!
