The Emergency Assistance Center (TEAC) provides assistance with food, clothing and hygiene items on a monthly basis, and seasonal support for back-to-school, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. We also partner with Twinsburg City Schools in the Paws on Child Hunger program.

The Emergency Assistance Center (TEAC) is first and foremost a food pantry, providing a monthly 7-day supply of food.

In 2019, we served 10,205 individuals throughout the year and distributed food for a total of 130,299 meals!

Our primary goal is to feed the hungry, and we always serve those in need of emergency help, as well as those in our service area who need continued help to put food on the table.

Paws on Child Hunger Backpacks

The Paws on Child Hunger Program is a joint venture between The Emergency Assistance Center in Northfield and Twinsburg City Schools to provide nutritional weekend food assistance for Twinsburg students who receive free or reduced lunches. Our non-descript backpacks include healthy, filling, and safe-to-prepare (no cooking needed) meals and snacks to help students have enough to eat throughout their weekends at home. During the 2019-2020 school year, we served 125 students every week from Wilcox Primary School, Samuel Bissell Elementary School, George G. Dodge Intermediate School, and R. B. Chamberlin Middle School.

Seasonal Support

Back-to-School Fest

At our Back-to-School Fest, TEAC families with school-aged children receive free school supplies, backpacks and haircuts for each child. Sign up begins in June and distribution for our clients is held in August inside Momentum Christian Church in Macedonia. The public is invited to attend the additional outdoor activities, including live music, bounce houses, games, and free food, hosted by Momentum!

Extra Holiday Food

At Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, TEAC families receive extra food to help them prepare a holiday meal, as well as gift certificates to purchase a turkey or ham at a local grocery store.

Christmas Lane

Christmas Lane is TEAC program that benefits the children of eligible clients with gifts for Christmas. The children must be 0-18 years old, and if 18, must still be in high school. In 2020, due to COVID-19, registered clients will receive gift cards only at their December food appointments.
Every year, the Christmas Lane program benefits approximately 290 children!! We are so proud to run this program entirely from the generous donations of our community. If you would like to contribute, please refer to the home page of this website starting in mid-October for details.

Easter Baskets

Each year at Easter, TEAC provides Easter baskets for the children of our client families. Nordonia Hills Preschool Parents and several high school student groups in our service area collect donations and prepare beautiful baskets filled with candy, snacks, toys and games that we distribute to youngsters each spring.
