The Emergency Assistance Center (TEAC) is first and foremost a food pantry, serving a monthly 3-5 day supply of food. In 2018, we served 10,639 individuals throughout the year, including children and seniors. Our primary goal is to feed the hungry, and we always serve those in need of emergency help, as well as those in our service area who need continued help to put food on the table.
Paws on Child Hunger Backpack Program
The Paws on Child Hunger Program is a joint venture between The Emergency Assistance Center in Northfield and Twinsburg City Schools to provide nutritional weekend food assistance for Twinsburg students who receive free or reduced lunches. Our non-descript backpacks include healthy, filling, and safe-to-prepare (no cooking needed) meals and snacks to help students have enough to eat throughout their weekends at home. During the 2017-2018 school year, we served nearly 200 students every week from Wilcox Primary School, Samuel Bissell Elementary School, and George G. Dodge Intermediate School. The school district plans to include R. B. Chamberlin Middle School and Twinsburg High School in the near future.
 Seasonal Support
Back-to-School Fest
At our Back-to-School Fest, TEAC families with school-aged children receive free school supplies, clothing and haircuts for each child. Sign up begins in June and distribution for our clients is held inside Momentum Church in Macedonia. The public is invited to attend the additional outdoor activities, including live music, bounce houses, games, and free food, hosted by Momentum Church! The festival is held in August.

 Thanksgiving Harvest Meals

As Thanksgiving nears, TEAC families are preparing to celebrate the holiday meal, and each client receives a Harvest bag full of all the non-perishables needed to make a Thanksgiving feast, as well as gift certificates to purchase a Thanksgiving turkey or ham.

 Christmas Lane

Christmas Lane is an opportunity for TEAC clients with dependent children to select new Christmas gifts, free of charge, for all their kiddos. We are so proud to run this program entirely from the generous donations of our communities. Every gift is brand new and gifts for all ages are available. The event is held at Western Reserve Grace Church in Macedonia. In 2018, our clients shopped for a total of 290 children !!

Easter Baskets

Each year at Easter, TEAC provides Easter baskets for the children of our client families. With the support of our annual sponsor, Nordonia Hills Preschool Parents, volunteers pack baskets with candy, snacks, toys and games to distribute to youngsters each spring. We also are proud to offer an Easter dinner bag for each family, along with a gift certificate for a turkey or ham.
