Paws on Child Hunger Backpack Program
The Paws on Child Hunger program is a joint venture between The
Emergency Assistance Center in Northfield and Twinsburg City Schools to
provide nutritional weekend food assistance for Twinsburg students that
receive free or reduced lunches. Our non-descript backpacks include
healthy, filling, and safe-to-prepare (no cooking needed) meals and
snacks to help students have enough to eat throughout their weekends at
home. During the 2017-2018 school year, we served a total of 149 students every week from Wilcox Primary School, Samuel Bissell Elementary School, and George G. Dodge Intermediate School. We plan to include R.B. Chamberlin Middle School and Twinsburg High School in the near future.
